India’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has released the notification for blocking of  Internet Banking in certain accounts which don’t follow the newly stipulated guidelines. SBI has published the notification on their official websites including Social media official channels.

SBI has announced that it will block those internet banking users who have not registered their mobile numbers with their bank accounts. Status:

  1. If any SBI bank account doesn’t have a mobile number linked to it and if they are using it for internet banking, SBI will block internet banking access with immediate effect from December 1.
  2. However, the bank account will continue to be operational and only internet banking access would be forfeited. 

SBI has provided online facility to account holders for checking online whether their mobile number is registered with the bank or not.

SBI is also offering free exchange to new EVM chip cards as the magnetic strip cards are being blocked by 31st Dec 2018.

If you have not updated the mobile number in your Internet banking account then rush to the near bank branch immediately before November 30.
