Supreme court of India has extended the validity of linking Aadhaar with Bank accounts & other services to indefinitely. Meanwhile the apex court has also made Aadhaar mandatory for all the subsidies & benefits under section 7 of constitution. Here is the list of Social Schemes where Aadhaar is mandatory to verify the claim of the beneficiary and to transfer the subsidy amount.

All the digital payment services like UPI – Unified Payment Interface, BHIM Aadhaar Pay, AEPS and  other Aadhaar based money transfer. 

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which is an approach to transfer subsidy and welfare amount directly to the beneficiary’s bank account, instead of the existing practice of giving banker’s cheque or cash.

As of today 92 centrally-sponsored schemes from 19 Ministries are implemented through DBT. The prominent among them are PAHAL for LPG subsidy, cash transfer of food subsidy and MGNREGA.
