7th CPC

Union cabinets all set to accept the recommendation of seventh pay commission dated 29th June. Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa  has stated that “Committee of Secretaries (CoS) has finalised its report on Pay Commission recommendations. We will soon (file) draft Cabinet note based on the report,”.

A Committee of Secretaries headed by Cabinet Secretary P.K. Sinha has submitted its report on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission on 27th itself.

The Seventh Pay Commission has announced 23.55 per cent increase in pay and allowances of serving central government employees and 24 per cent increase in pension of retired officers.

The minimum Basic pay in the central government jobs would be Rs 18,000 and maximum Rs 2.5 lacs to secretary level.

7th Pay commission will be implemented from 01st january and cost the government Rs 1.02 lakh crore or 0.70% of GDP.

Highlights of 7Th Pay commission 

Date of implementation

The recommended date of implementation is January 1, 2016. So, government employees will get arrears from January this year.

Minimum Pay

Based on the Aykroyd formula, the minimum pay in government is recommended to be set at Rs 18,000 per month.

Maximum Pay

Rs 2,25,000 per month for Apex Scale and Rs 2,50,000 per month for Cabinet Secretary and others presently at the same pay level.
